The role of arc protective clothing should not be underestimated

In foreign countries, many examples show that if workers wear everyday clothes at work, they often suffer more injuries.

In fact, more than half of all arc-related injuries reported to OSHA (United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration) are caused by burning workers' clothing.

Arc flash is the most likely cause of electrical workers being injured by electric shock, because the temperature of severe arc is about 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit, which is four times the temperature of the sun's surface, and the surrounding materials are vaporized or melted and ejected at high temperature. If the worker Clothes being ignited can cause extensive burns on the body.

Assessing the degree of danger in a specific working environment and providing workers with appropriate arc-proof personal protective clothing has become a common safety standard requirement in European and American countries. It is particularly important to equip workers with professional arc-proof work clothes.

The anti-arc principle of anti-arc work clothes is: once the work clothes are exposed to arc flames or heat, the internal high-strength and low-stretch bulletproof fibers will automatically expand rapidly, so that the fabric becomes thicker and denser, forming a protective barrier for the human body.

At present, the testing standards for arc protective clothing mainly include European standards and American standards.

European standard
The European standard arc protective clothing fabric testing standard is to test the corresponding data results of 4 pieces of fabrics exposed to the arc reaction.

American Standard
It is mainly judged from the aspects of flame retardancy, fabric weight, tensile strength, tear strength, color fastness to washing, water shrinkage and arc protection value.
