Little knowledge of flame retardant protective clothing!

Flame-retardant protective clothing is one of the most widely used varieties of personal protective equipment. Its protective principle is mainly to use shielding functions such as heat insulation, reflection, absorption, and carbonization isolation to protect workers from open flames or heat sources.

The skin of the human body is very sensitive to heat. When the skin of the human body is exposed to high temperatures above 44°C, burns will occur. First degree burns will be caused by trauma, and then blisters will occur, resulting in first-degree burns. At 55°C, the first-degree burn lasts for 20 seconds, and then the second-degree and third-degree burns appear. At 72°C, it is completely burnt. Therefore, in industrial furnaces, chemical industry, petroleum, machinery, construction, coal and fire protection industries, flame-retardant protective clothing should be used to slow down the spread of flames, reduce the speed of heat transfer, and make it carbonized to form an isolation layer to protect the safety of workers. safety and health.

How to choose flame retardant protective clothing?

When choosing flame-retardant protective clothing, you should ask the supplier for a test report, check the product characteristics, production batch, production date, pasting cloth sample (should be consistent with the product supplied) in the test report, and ask the supplier for samples for future reference. To verify its quality, there are five steps: check, look, touch, smell, and test:

Check: Check the inner and outer packaging of the flame-retardant protective clothing, whether the trademarks and safety signs of special labor protection products are complete and correct, and the instructions for washing, maintenance and maintenance are attached.

Look: Check the appearance of the flame retardant protective clothing, there should be no surface defects, damage and stitching defects. The structure of flame-retardant work clothes should be three-tight neckline, cuffs, and hem, so as to prevent hot objects or sparks from flying and hurting the human body. Open garment pockets should have flaps to prevent the collection of flying metal or sparks. The ventilation holes reserved for heat dissipation should be in the underarms, back, and inside the crotch to prevent foreign objects from entering.

Touch: Flame-retardant protective clothing with better quality feels softer and does not irritate the skin.

Smell: Some unqualified flame retardants are toxic and have a certain pungent smell. Take the flame retardant protective clothing out of the packaging bag and smell it. There should be no peculiar smell or irritating smell.

Test: first test the pockets and decorations of the flame-retardant protective clothing, should not affect the normal work; second test whether it is convenient, fast, and can be quickly removed.
